Trusted Chiropractic Clinic in Murfreesboro

Tennessee Back Pain Center

Tennessee Back Pain Center is the newest chiropractic clinic in Murfreesboro. Our main goal is to get you out of pain and back to doing the things you love! However, we are very different than any other chiropractor in the area. With us, there are no treatment plans, no funky business, and no secrets.

We aim to understand the why behind your pain. Beyond a general diagnostic history, our doctors take the time to understand each person's unique goals and current functional status. Then they develop a custom plan to get you better with long-lasting effects. We combine chiropractic care with rehabilitative services in order to achieve the best outcome for our patients. Current research shows that chiropractic care combined with rehabilitative exercises produces more cost effective and efficient results to get you back in the game! Our clinic likes to live by a very simple rule - we equip you with the best self-care, so that you can be in charge of your own healthcare.

Dr. Teresa Porter (Bates)

Dr. Teresa Porter grew up in Bellbrook Ohio, a small suburb of Dayton. She attended The Ohio State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. Through engineering school, her focus was transforming surgical hip implants. It was during this time that she realized the power of conservative care and preventing people from undergoing surgery in the first place.

After graduating from OSU, Dr. Porter moved to St. Louis, MO to pursue her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Logan University. At Logan, she was involved in clubs such as Motion Palpation Institute (MPI), Rehab 2 Performance (R2P), and Forward-Thinking Chiropractic Alliance (FTCA) to help further her education and understanding of chiropractic care.

Dr. Porter seeks to be an evidence-based physician that practices within the guidelines of current research. While attending Chiropractic school, she attended countless hours of continuing education courses including Motion Palpation Adjusting, Active Release Technique (ART), Mckenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation (IASTM), Dry Needling, Neurodynamics, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), and more. Dr. Porter also has clinical experience in a sports medicine-focused chiropractic clinic and a federally qualified health center where she provided care to the underserved community.

Outside of the office, Dr. Porter enjoys spending time with friends and family. You can find her watering her house plants, exploring nature, or cooking up a healthy and delicious recipe in the kitchen.

Fun Fact: Dr. Porter also has a passion for TACOS! In 2019, she ate 500 tacos collectively over the entire year, and in 2020 she ate 600 tacos. If you ever need some taco advice, stop in and she would be glad to taco bout it.

Dr. Logan Bates

Dr. Logan Bates grew up in a small town in West Tennessee called Dyer, TN. He attended the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Biology: Cellular and Molecular. It was during his time in undergrad that he decided he wanted to be a Chiropractor.

Dr. Bates pursued his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Logan University in St. Louis, Missouri (yes Logan went to Logan University!) Moving from the rural West Tennessee to big city St. Louis was quite the change for Dr. Bates, but he adapted quickly. At Logan, he was involved in clubs such as Motion Palpation Institute (MPI), Rehab 2 Performance (R2P), and Forward-Thinking Chiropractic Alliance (FTCA) to help further his education and understanding of chiropractic care.

Dr. Bates saw the value in learning both inside and outside of the classroom, so he attended seminars, several elective courses, and workshops in addition to his class work. It was from his extra-curricular activities that he received certifications in McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Dry Needling, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), Neurodynamics, and more! Dr. Bates has clinical experience in a sports medicine-focused chiropractic clinic and loves working with athletes of all ages! He dedicates himself to being evidence-based and practices within the guidelines of current research.

When Dr. Bates is not treating patients, you can find him on the local pickleball courts, playing disc golf at a park, or even riding his bike down the Murfreesboro Greenway. Dr. Bates is an avid outdoorsman from hunting to fishing to hiking and biking. If you have an injury that is keeping you from getting back to what you love then he is your guy!
