Exercise for Spinal Stenosis

Find Relief from Spinal Stenosis with the Gentle Power of Knees to Chest

Living with spinal stenosis can feel like a constant battle against pain, numbness, and weakness. The narrowing of the spinal canal puts pressure on your nerves, making even simple movements challenging. While it's tempting to limit activity, gentle exercises can actually bring significant relief. One such exercise, the knees to chest, is a low-impact movement that can help decompress your spine and ease your discomfort.

How Knees to Chest Helps Spinal Stenosis:

▪️ Decompresses the Lumbar Spine

▪️ Stretches Tight Muscles

▪️ Improves Circulation

▪️ Promotes Relaxation

Performing the Knees to Chest Exercise Correctly:

1. Lie flat on your back on a comfortable surface like a yoga mat or your bed. Keep your knees bent and your feet flat on the surface.

2. Gently bring both knees towards your chest, using your hands to clasp behind your thigh or over your shin.

3. Hold this position for 1-3 seconds, feeling a gentle stretch in your lower back and hips. Remember to breathe deeply and evenly throughout the stretch.

4. Aim for 10 repetitions for 2-3 sets daily, or as recommended by your chiropractor.
